Signs and Symptoms
  • Pesistant, vice-like central chest pain
  • Pain possibly radiating to left arm, jaw and/or back
  • Breathlessness
  • Sudden fainting
  • "Ashen" skin and blueness to lips
  • A weak, rapid or irregular pulse
  • Sudden collapse
  • A sense of impending doom

Treatment
  • Ease the strain on their heart by making them comfortable
  • Position the casualty in the "half-sitting" (or lazy w) position
  • Dial
  • 999
  • Monitor the casualty
  • Be prepared to resuscitate
